PHYSICALIZING SECURITY AND PRIVACY:
Exploring Physically Intuitive Design to Build Users Trust in Using Ubiquitous Sensors
In this dissertation, I present three projects—Smart Webcam Cover, Powering for Privacy, and {Hidden}—that empower end-users to protect themselves against covert data collection by everyday sensors. These projects leverage physical solutions to offer intuitive and perceptually assured security and privacy in daily environments.
